An announcement was made today that the PA State Commonwealth Court has ruled that the acting Department of Health secretary did not have the authority to issue a statewide mask mandate for schools.
At this time, the district has not been informed or provided with any additional information or guidance from the Department of Education. If this court ruling is not appealed, our Mountain View Board of Education may have the opportunity to vote again for optional masking moving forward for this school year.
The Mountain View School District will continue to follow our current district health and safety plan which requires masking until we receive further guidance from the state.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation as we wait for additional information. Once the district receives further guidance related to the masking mandate, we will provide all essential information to our community.
