Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Mountain View Board of Education met last evening and voted 7-2 to return all students back to school, PreK-12th grade starting on Monday, March 29, 2021.  The district will conclude the educational format of the “Hybrid Model” on Friday, March 26, 2021.  There will be two more 1 p.m. dismissals during the month of March on the dates of March 24 and 31, 2021.

During this week of preparation, our administration, teachers and support staff will be preparing our school buildings by making the best use of space to maximum social distancing opportunities.  When looking at 3 feet and 6 feet of social distancing whenever possible as our primary goal, there will be some situations where social distancing will be more difficult and fall short of our goal.  We will address these areas as they arise and we will work together to brainstorm the best possible solutions.  Face masks are still required in our school buildings unless on a designated lunch and/or mask break.

Regarding our bus transportation, our drivers will be working on providing as much social distancing as possible on the bus.  Additionally, our drivers will continue with our bus cleaning and sanitization procedures.  Face masks are still required on our buses and in our car contracts.

Starting on Monday, March 29, 2021, the Mountain View School District will also offer a Synchronous (live) Learning Model for families who would like to continue instruction outside of the traditional classroom.  If you are choosing this option, please contact the main office of your child’s school to inform them of your choice and to learn more information.  Further, in grades 3-6, we also will continue to have our Mountain View Virtual Academy that is also available as an alternative option to our Synchronous Learning Model.  Please contact the elementary school main office for more details on our Mountain View Virtual Academy.

If you have any questions or concerns related to the return to school for all students, please contact your child’s school principal.  As always, please feel free to contact me with any district questions at (570) 434-2180 or
