COVID-19 Statement 1/13/2021

January 13, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy New Year to you and your family!  I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday break.  Our administrative team has passionately checked in with our teachers during these two weeks of virtual learning for our students.  Overall, our teachers have reported that students are engaged and have been actively participating in their learning programs.  I want to personally thank you for all of your extraordinary support and extra efforts in working with your children during this time.

Since our winter break which began on December 23rd, the Mountain View School District has had several administrators and staff report that they have tested positive for COVID-19.  Even though we were not and have not been in school, we continued to follow our strict district protocols which involved quarantining and working directly with the Department of Health.  Our administration and staff that were positive are currently following all of the necessary protocols and will not return to school until safely cleared.

After a thorough review of our safety protocols and procedures, I can confidently report that we are scheduled to safely return to in-person instruction in our Hybrid Model (Group A) on Tuesday, January 19.  Even though we had a couple of positive COVID-19 cases since the holiday break, it was a very small sample size and will not impact our ability to safely and effectively open on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Over the last two weeks, all of our classrooms have been deep cleaned and sanitized in preparation for the return of our faculty, staff and students.  Our administrative team will continue to monitor all of our safety protocols and the number of reported positive cases in our county and school district.  A transition back to virtual learning may occur in the future at any time depending on the number of positive cases in the county or in the district.

We appreciate your cooperation and partnership with us as we continue to navigate this pandemic as safely as possible.  We are extremely excited to see our students in-person next week!
