MVSD COVID-19 Update: December 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable Christmas weekend.  We have had some COVID-19 related events happen since our break for the holiday on Wednesday and I wanted to provide you an update.

On December 25, I received two separate contacts during the day that two separate staff members just became aware that they were COVID-19 positive.  Each of our positive staff members were personally contacted by the school district and the Department of Health, interviewed and contact tracing was conducted.  Due to this occurrence, most of our cafeteria staff needed to be quarantined.  Due to the quarantining, the lunch distribution for today, Monday, December 28th was cancelled.

Our district lunch distribution for this week will occur on Tuesday, December 29 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.  Due to being short-staffed, moving the meal distribution to Tuesday allowed for safe and secure preparation time.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by email at melia@mvsd.net or (570) 434-2180.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael S. Elia
