COVID-19 Statement 11/13/2020

November 13, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to bring everyone up to speed in the Mountain View School District community related to COVID-19.  Since my last letter, we have had one confirmed case of COVID-19 and one presumed case.  In both situations, we were made immediately aware of the situation and we were able to act swiftly and assertively.  Working directly with our school nurses and the Department of Health, we were able to distinctly identify by using contact tracing the possible exposures.  Luckily, the group of possible exposures were small.  All families were contacted and the necessary, precautionary quarantines were put in place.  Due to the successful communication between our faculty and families, we were able to avoid a school closure.

As a district, we will continue to provide you as much information as possible related to any probable or confirmed cases.  Our goal always is to maintain a safe, secure learning environment for all faculty, staff, and students.  As we go forward, we will close temporarily if we have identified that our school environment has been compromised in any way and we can not secure safety.  We will continue to disinfect all classrooms and common areas on a daily basis and disinfect bathrooms multiple times a day.

Thank you again for your partnership as we continue to work through these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael S. Elia

Superintendent of Schools
