COVID-19 Statement 5/18/2022

May 18, 2022

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Between May 2- May 18, 2022, the Mountain View School District became aware of fifty (50) positive COVID-19 cases.  Sixteen (16) student cases were at the high school and twenty-three (23) were at the elementary school.  Eleven (11) faculty/staff members were reported as positive.  Contact tracing was completed and the families of the students that were identified as close contacts were contacted.

Please note that a large majority of our positive COVID-19 cases have been over the last week or so including the weekend.  I want to thank our parents and community members for continuing to work as a partner with both schools as we go through this recent rise in positive cases.

Our district will continue to be vigilant with its safety protocols and procedures to help ensure the safest environment possible for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 570-434-2180 or email me at melia@mvsd.net.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael S. Elia
Superintendent of Schools
Mountain View School District
