COVID-19 Statement 1/12/2022 and Close Contact Information

January 12, 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Monday, January 10, 2022, our Mountain View Board of Education approved our updated District Health and Safety Plans.  Our updated Health and Safety plans are available for your review on our District website.

The one (1) change is as follows:
*any identified close contacts that are asymptomatic will be required to wear a mask/shield in school for 10 days.

The temporary masking of close contact students has been put in place due to the recent surge in positive COVID-19 cases in the district.  As the positive cases in the county and the district begin to decrease over time, the masking of close contact students will be revisited.

Our goal is to continue to provide the safest, most consistent, and high quality in-person education as possible to all Mountain View students.  We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to navigate the changing guidelines from the state and local level.

Thank you!

COVID-19 Statement
On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the Mountain View School District became aware of three (3) positive COVID-19 cases.  One (1) student case was at the elementary school and two (2) student cases were at the high school.  Contact tracing was completed and the families of the students that were identified as close contacts were contacted.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael S. Elia
Superintendent of Schools
