COVID-19 Statement 4/19/2021
April 18, 2021
Dear Parents/Guardians,
On Friday, April 16, 2021, the Mountain View School District was made aware of a positive case of COVID-19 at the high school. On Saturday, April 17, 2021 a second positive case was reported from the elementary school. Today, April 18, 2021, we became aware of an additional positive COVID-19 case with a faculty member.
The Department of Health was contacted and consulted with to ensure that all safety procedures and protocols were implemented. Due to our recent spike in positive COVID-19 cases and the large amount of students currently being quarantined, the Mountain View School District will transition to virtual learning for Monday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 20. These two virtual days will allow us the necessary time to further contact trace and complete additional deep cleaning.
PSSA testing will be moved to begin on Wednesday, April 21 upon the return of our students to in-person learning. Additionally, all sporting events (practices and games) are cancelled on Monday, April 19 and Tuesday, April 20.
The Mountain View School District will continue to be vigilant with its safety protocols and procedures to help ensure the safest environment possible for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 570-434-2180 or email me at melia@mvsd.net.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael S. Elia
